The Channel Islands

Located not far from the west coast of Cotentin, the Channel Islands are accessible by boat from April to September, less than an hour from the ports of Cherbourg-Octeville and Dielette.

On arrival you get a real change of scene awaits you - there is no doubt you are back in the UK! A mix of British culture, along with Norman traditions spicing up everyday life.

Far from the commercial buzz of the duty-free shops in the capital St Helier, Jersey, which is the largest island and perhaps the best known of the Channel Islands, is crisscrossed by a dense network of hiking trails clifftop paths.

Guernsey is renowned for having hosted the writer Victor Hugo in exile. His house is
exuberantly  decorated and is worth visiting.

More windswept and wild, Alderney has retained its old world charm, with quaint cottages between the many fine sandy beaches.

On Sark and Herm, time seems to stand still. No motor vehicles are allowed with the exception of a few tractors that can be hailed to transport passengers and baggage - always with a smile!
